The STK-102D digital self-generating CDI ignition and alternator system is designed to replace the contact breaker points ignition, as well as the charging system in alternator-equipped Triumph, BSA, and Norton twin-cylinder models, although this kit is not specified for use Triumph with 750 twins.
This comprehensive ignition and charging upgrade kit includes a single-phase 65W output alternator with a combined regulator/rectifier, enabling a controlled 12 volt AC output to the lighting circuit. A digital CDI module, single dual-lead coil, (2) 5K resistance spark plug caps, and the associated fittings kit are also included. Installation instructions and a wiring diagram are supplied to make for an easy conversion to this modern upgrade kit. Made in the UK.
This system can be run with or without a battery. The complete digital self-generating ignition and alternator feature a pre-programmed advance curve for optimum performance for vintage 4-stroke British twin-cylinder applications. The capacitive discharge ignition works by charging a capacitor within the CDI unit from the source coil on the stator. The CDI digitizes the signal and uses a microprocessor to derive the pre-programmed ignition timing curve, making the setup quick, easy, and accurate.
The removal of the original stator, rotor, zener diode, rectifier, contact breaker points plate, auto-advance unit, and coils is required to install the STK-102D upgrade kit. Instructions and a wiring diagram are included and should be followed closely.Â
