This drift, or “punch”, is essential for any vintage Triumph motorcycle engine builder’s collection of specialty service tools. Built to last a lifetime, this tool will facilitate easy removal and installation of tappet guide blocks in the Triumph overhead valve twin-cylinder barrel.

Finished in corrosion-resistant plating and featuring a knurled handle, this special drift allows for precision alignment of the guide block in the cylinder barrel prior to drifting into place. Made in the UK.

The end of the drift is relieved to fit the receiver on the bottom of the guide block for removal, and the pins are spaced to fit into the bores for the tappet stems during removal and installation.

When the guide block is left in a freezer overnight and the cylinder barrel is heated at the guide block bore, the drift will easily drive the guide block into the bore. A smear of assembly lube or grease is suggested to aid in the fitment of the guide block into the cylinder barrel. Consult the factory workshop manual for instructions.
