Known as the “Cigar” mufflers, they debuted for the 1974 model year on the Triumph 750 twins and triples, although they are commonly fitted to 1973 models and will fit with no modifications to the mounting system. Economically priced and nicely finished in chrome.
The reproduction long tapered silencers are 32″ long and have an inlet ID of 1-3/8″. They feature the original mounting channels, so the stock mounting hardware can be used to fit these silencers. Sourced from Emgo in Taiwan.
Fitting the original-type silencers will most likely result in little, if any changes to the carburetor tuning on the applicable Triumph models that were originally specified with the “Cigar” mufflers.
The inlet of the silencers fit over the ends of the exhaust pipes and are secured with clamps. There are mounting channels on the backside of the silencers for the bolts that fasten to the mounting brackest. It is advisable to loosen the exhaust system while fitting the silencers to allow for adjustments to the alignment prior to tightening down the hardware.

Please note: Due to varying bans on the use of hexavalent chrome in the chroming process, this item will have varying appearance different than OEM standards. Chromers are frequently using trivalent in their processes. “It’s just not the same color. Hexavalent has that clear blue sheen, but trivalent is more grayish and smoky. Trivalent will not replace the look of hexavalent.”
