The dual seat is a visually prominent part of the restored motorcycle, and the seat cover should be finished in the correct pattern and color. This black cover is correct for the US-specification 1978-1980 Triumph 650 models with the 2.8 and 3.6 gallon petrol tanks. Not for fitment on the 1980 T140D models.
The correct top grid pattern and drop side piping identify this seat cover as correct for the late 70’s US-specification 750 models. Features a crisp gold Triumph logo on the back of the cover. Top quality reproduction seat cover from the UK.
For correct fitment of the cover to the seat pan and foam, the metal base must be free of damage and rust. The foam can be reused if still soft, compressible, and holding its original shape. Replacement seat foams are available and often used when a new seat cover is installed.
The seat cover is stretched over the foam padding and seat pan and retained by either sprags, seat pan tabs, or adhesive. A separate trim strip around the base of the seat pan finishes the seat cover. Seat recovering requires skills that may be best reserved for a professional upholsterer
