For correct fitment of the cover to the seat pan and foam, the metal base must be free of damage and rust. The foam can be reused if still soft, compressible, and retaining its original shape. Replacement seat foams are available and often used when the seat cover in installed.
The Triumph wide nose seat cover is stretched over the foam padding and seat pan, then retained by sprags, seat pan tabs, or adhesive. A separate trim strip around the base of the seat pan finishes the seat cover installation. Seat recovering requires skills that may be best reserved for a professional upholsterer.Â
