An important detail of any motorcycle engine overhaul is the integrity and appearance of the crankcase hardware. This engine hardware kit supplies the 5/16″ bolts, studs, nuts, and washers necessary for joining the crankcase halves together.
Neatly finished in a bright protective zinc finish, this hardware set includes:
- (1) 4-3/4″ x 5/16-26 TPI stud (70-5963)
- (1) 5-1/16″ x 5/16-26 TPI stud (70-4856)
- (2) 3-7/8″ x 5/16-26 TPI studs (70-2888)
- (1) 2-1/2″ x 5/16-22 TPI bolt (70-4541)
- (1) 1-3/4″ x 5/16-22 TPI bolt (70-4540)
- (1) 1-7/8″ x 5/16-22 TPI small hex head bolt (70-4098)
- (10) 5/16-26 nuts (S1-51), and
- (13) 5/16 washers (S25-3)
Sourced from Tri-Cor in the UK. The included hardware pieces secure the crankcase halves together at the outer perimeter of the crankcase and the rear castings above the primary chaincase. The longest front crankcase stud also serves as the mounting point for the exhaust pipe stays on the road-going models with downswept exhaust headers.
Once the engine internals have been fitted, and the crankcase halves prepared with sealing compound, the case halves are joined together and secured with the hardware. Consult your workshop manual for detailed instructions on this procedure.
