The sidestand, or “prop stand” is critical to keeping the motorcycle in the correct position while parked. This version is a quality reproduction that is specified for many Triumph and BSA models from 1968-onward. May also be suitable for earlier unit-construction BSA twins. Check your parts book to verify correct fitment.
This forged steel sidestand is sourced from LF Harris in the UK and measures approximately 14.5″ from the top of the forked lug to the tip. Finished in sleek black paint for a durable and authentic look.
The 7/16″ pivot bolt hole is non-threaded to accept the special bolt and nut. A spring is fitted to hold the stand in the retracted position when not in use. A threaded boss houses a stop bolt to adjust the travel of the stand when retracted.
The sidestand is fitted to a tab on the lower frame with a shouldered bolt and secured with a thin nut. The spring must be stretched from the mounting lug on the stand to reach the locating lug on the frame tab. A hooked tool is useful for installing the spring.
