The oil tube (sludge trap tube) is important as it filters out large particulates from passing through the big-end journals and subsequently damaging the rod bearings.
The oil tube is a steel sleeve that is flared on one end with holes drilled for oil distribution to the crankshaft journals. The tube is retained by a pointed flywheel bolt. Made in the UK.
The oil tube is inserted into the sludge trap of the crankshaft and aligned with a special pointed flywheel bolt. The sludge trap is sealed by a plug once the tube is fitted into the cavity.
