The drain plug washer is important for sealing the drain plug on the float bowl.
The sealing washer is made of composite material that obviates petrol leaks by sealing the junction of the drain plug and the float bowl.
The washer is placed under the head of the drain plug, then the plug is tightened into the threaded aperture in the float bowl.
