Properly sized throttle cables are essential for safe and correct adjustments to the throttle and carburetors. This throttle cable is suited for the BSA A10 standard and A10 Super Rocket models with stock handlebars, 366-type twist-grip throttle, and Amal 376 Monobloc carburetor. This cable has a “top hat” ferrule at the carburetor end and may require the carburetor cap to have the correct-sized hole drilled as the ferrule will not fit in the threaded adjuster. This listing is for (1) cable.
Genuine UK-made Doherty throttle cable for the BSA A10 models with the Amal 376 carburetor. Sheath length is 37-1/8″, with an inner wire free-length of 3″ and in-line adjuster.
The cable is pulled by the motion of the twist grip, allowing it to raise and lower the throttle slide in the carburetor. Fine adjustments to cable lash are made by the inline barrel adjuster on the cable.
The carburetor top cap must be removed to thread the cable through the top cap. The return spring is installed over the cable, then the cable is captured in the throttle slide. The needle and clip are fitted to the slide, with the return spring compressed so it is out of the way. The twist grip body must be separated to access the rotor, which pulls the end of the cable.
