The 376 Amal Monobloc carburetor was specified in various jetting conditions for fitment to mid-displacement British singles and twins from the 1950s through 1967. We designate this 1-1/16″ bore Monobloc as the 376/17, appropriate for the various Triumph, BSA, and Norton models equipped with 1-1/16″ inlet manifolds. May be suitable for many other vintage motorcycles with alterations to the set-up and jetting.
This genuine Amal 376/17 Monobloc carburetor is made in the UK and is supplied with a 3.5 cutaway throttle valve, 250 main jet, .106 needle jet, and a 25 pilot jet. The adjuster screws are on the right side of the body, and the integrated float chamber is on the left side of the carburetor. The holes on the mounting flange are 2″ on centers.
The Monobloc is a very tunable instrument and can be calibrated to perform well on many different motorcycles. Some jetting and/or throttle cutaway adjustments can be expected due to variances in elevation and exhaust or induction modifications.
The mounting flange is fitted to the inlet manifold studs and secured with nuts. The banjo fitting at the float needle seating block is retained with a special bolt that allows introduction of fuel into the float chamber. Supplied with a choke assembly. Refer to the factory workshop manual for fitment and tuning procedures.
