Spire nuts are used to mount the name plates on the side panels of the late Triumph 750 models.
The spire nut is a thin nut that is used where clearance is limited, such as on the back of a side panel. It is slightly arched, to locate itself on the back of the panel when the screw for the nameplate is tightened, obviating the need for a spanner to hold it in place.
The spire nuts are thin and allow close fitment of the side panels to the air box on the late Triumph 750 models. Short 2BA screws secure the name plates to the panels and are threaded into the spire nuts.
