This undrilled stainless steel front fender was specified for various models from 1968 through 1970, associated with three different part numbers depending on the drilling pattern for the lower stay. The lipped front edge is common to the 97-1996 and 97-2276 front mudguards, both part numbers superseding to 97-3884. Can also be fitted to the 1963-1966 Triumph twins with 19″ front wheels.
Made in the UK by Speedwell Mudguards, this fender features heavy gauge stainless steel and is supplied undrilled to facilitate original or reproduction stays. These fenders are handmade individually and require prep work. Stainless can be polished to a high luster if desired.
Suitable for fitment to models originally specified with either single tab or double tab lower fender stays. The arc length is 34-1/2″, chord length is 26″, and the width is 4-1/2″. This mudguard follows the radius of the original 19″ front wheel.
The front mudguard provides protection for the rider and the motorcycle from the elements and serves as a fender brace, stabilizing the front fork during cornering and hard braking.
The mudguard is fitted with looped stays at the front, middle, and rear positions. Removal of the wheel is recommended to ease the installation of the front mudguard assembly to the fork.
