Vintage Triumph and BSA T-Type 5/16 inch Nylock Nut 14-1902

The Nyloc nuts are used where vibration resistant nuts are called for, in this instance as chain adjuster nuts. These nuts are sold as a pair for use on both chain adjusters.

The 5/16-24 TPI UNF Nyloc nuts use an embedded nylon insert on the threads near the crown of the nuts. The nylon insert provides vibration resistance without deforming the threads of the bolts or studs they are fastened to.

The Nyloc nuts are ideal for applications where the nuts are loosened or tightened more frequently, such as on a chain adjuster. Nylocs hold their tension without creating wear on the threads of the chain adjuster rod.

The nut is threaded on the chain adjuster rod and loosened or tightened until the desired chain tension and wheel alignment is achieved.
