Established in 1990, the Devon Rim Company Ltd has been a purveyor of the finest wheel goods available worldwide for vintage British motorcycles. This spoke kit will suit the 1972-1975 Norton Commando 750 and 850 models equipped with the disc brake hub and WM2-19 rim with spoke nipple drilled holes to suit .300″ nipples. The brake disc was fitted to the right-side of the hub on the earlier models, then changed to the left-side for the 1975 MK3 models. Be sure to refer to the parts catalogs for correct fitment.
Manufactured and finished in the UK, the 8 gauge brake-side and 9 gauge off-side stainless spokes are supplied with .300″ brass nickel-plated nipples, threaded for both 8 and 9 gauge spokes. This spoke set replaces original Norton spoke part numbers 06-3924, 06-3925, 06-3922, 06-3923, and nipple part numbers 06-2595 and 06-3207.
Stainless spokes offer a bright and corrosion-resistant finish and are an excellent choice for replacement of the original galvanized spokes. Modern manufacturing standards ensure safe and attractive wheels for superior reliability on the road.
Wheel building is a specialized skill and requires patience and specialty tools. A wheel truing stand will be beneficial for achieving a trued wheel and safely finished product. Refer to the specific model’s workshop manual for more details on rim lacing and correct offset specifications. In many cases, wheel building is best left to an experienced wheelsmith.
