This bolt is the fully threaded replacement for the axle and chain adjuster on the rear wheel on the oil in frame Triumph and BSA 650 and 750 models through 1978. Also, suitable replacement for the chain adjuster bolt on the 1975 Triumph T160 model.
The full run of threads on this bolt allows for a long adjustment range on the rear wheel axle. The hexagonal head measures 7/16″ across the flats, with a shank length of 1-1/2″ UH and is threaded to 1/4″-28 TPI UNF. Sourced from Tri-Cor in the UK.
The bolt is threaded into a boss on the chain adjuster and bears against the cover plate on each of the ends of the swinging arm to establish the alignment of the rear axle. A locking nut on the bolt maintains the position of the bolt.
The rear axle must be removed to slide the rear wheel adjusters over the ends of the swinging arm. Once fitted, the bolts and locking nuts can be threaded into the adjusters.
