The special captive, or spire nut is pressed into the side panel tin to the rear of the airbox cover. It is important, as access to the back of the side panel is limited.
The spire nut is captured in the side panel and forms a boss for the metal name plate screw to thread into. It is a square nut with a spring clip around it.
The captive nut is threaded to accept a 2BA screw, used to secure the rear of the motif name plate onto the side panel and airbox cover assembly.
