The wheel bearing retainer is threaded into the right side of the front wheel hub. The retainer is threaded with left-hand threads. The retainer helps secure the bearing in the bore of the hub.

The wheel bearing retainer secures and sets the correct depth of the wheel bearing in the bore of the hub. It is installed and removed with a special pin spanner.
