The thin Philidas nuts are meant for use on the stator, where clearance between the nut and stator is limited. 5/16-26 TPI CEI nut.
The nut is a 5/16-26 CEI nut with a locking ring on the top of the nut to obviate loosening off due to vibration.
The nut is fitted to the stator studs on early unit-construction Triumph twins and is tightened using a socket.
