The dual seat is a prominent part of the restored motorcycle, and the seat cover should be finished in the correct pattern and color. This grey-top cover is correct fitment for the early unit-construction 500 and 650 models through 1966. While many models wore the grey-top seat cover, some variants such as the early TT models are often seen with the black top cover.
The smooth grey- top cover is accented with white piping and a grey around the bottom of the cover. The crisp gold Triumph logo is featured on the back of the cover. (12) sprag clips are supplied with this seat cover. Made in the UK.
For correct fitment of the cover to the seat pan and foam, the metal base must be free of damage and rust. The foam can be reused if still soft, compressible, and retaining its original shape. Replacement seat foams are available and often used when the seat cover in installed.
The seat cover is stretched over the foam padding and seat pan, then retained by sprags, seat pan tabs, or adhesive. Seat recovering requires skills that may be best reserved for a professional upholsterer.
