The paper gasket is used on AMC gearboxes specified on AJS, Matchless, and Norton motorcycles from 1957 through 1975.
The gasket is fitted between the inner and outer gearbox covers, providing an effective oil sealing joint washer.
The gasket is replaced any time the outer gearbox cover is removed for transmission service.
