This steel retaining ring is used on the Norton Commando cush-drive rear drum brake hub. It retains and protects the 06-7614 white felt washer on the dummy axle. Compatible with the 1971-1974 models.
The thin retainer is .034″ thick, with a 1.090″ inside diameter and 1.810″ outside diameter. Made in the UK.
The retaining washer shields the felt sealing washers from the wheel bearings on the left side of the rear cush-drive drum brake hub and the dummy axle through the brake drum.
The wheel spindle must be removed to access the wheel bearings, retaining washers, and felt seals. Review the workshop manual for detailed instructions on this procedure.
