This handlebar is the correct fitment for the US-market BSA A50 Royal Star and A65 Lightning and Thunderbolt models from 1966-1970, although it can be fitted to earlier A7, A10, and single-cylinder models.
The high quality reproduction 7/8″ “Western bend” handlebar from Emgo is nicely chrome plated. Approximate measurements reveal a width of 30″, 5″ pullback, 5″ rise, and a 5″ center.
The handlebar is generally mounted to the top yoke with risers or cast-in clamps. There needs to be adequate width to accommodate switchgear, control levers, and a front brake master cylinder, where applicable.
Most BSA models used a cast clamp for a direct mount to the top fork yoke. Attention must be paid to the length of the various cables, particularly when retrofitting the handlebar to a non-stock application.
