This is the correct Lester Star locking connecting rod nut, as used on 1972-later BSA and Triumph models.
This spare is applicable for the following BSA and Triumph models/years: 1972-1975 A75 &T150, 1973-1974 T100 and 1972-1982 TR6, TR7, T120, T140.
The Lester Star nut is a unique locking nut that is designed for one-time use and requires the use of a 6-point socket for installation onto the connecting rod bolt. 5/16-24 UNF threads.
The nut is tightened onto the connecting rod bolt and carefully torqued up to the correct torque specification. It is designed to be used one time only per application.
