The Cleveloc nut is used in a number of locations throughout Triumph, BSA, and Norton models from 1969-onward. Cleveloc nuts are special nuts designed to withstand vibration forces and can retain their tension when relatively low torque values are applied to the fastener.

The Cleveloc nut can be identified by having a raised and slightly ovalized ring on top of the nut, with fine crenelations visible. This UNF nut is 1/4″, with a thread count of 28 TPI, suitable for many 1969-onward fastener applications. The nut measures approximately 7/16″ across the flats. Made in the UK.

A Cleveloc nut is useful for instances where a nut isn’t fully locked down, thus allowing a pivoting mechanism to freely move without risk of the nut loosening off in service.

The nut can be loosened and tightened by using a 7/16″ spanner or ratchet and socket.
