This slide hammer tool is used to easily remove the original Lucas Auto-Advance units on unit-construction Triumph and BSA models with side points ignitions.

The Lucas Auto Advance Slide Hammer stainless-steel assembly includes a shaft threaded to 5/16″-24 TPI threads on one and 5/16″-22 TPI threads on the opposite end for fitment to both early and late advance units. The center weight is knurled for a positive grip when sliding along the shaft for a quality slide hammer advance auto tool.

With the shaft threaded into the cam of the auto advance unit, the center weight is swiftly slid along the shaft to provide the inertia to free the advance unit from the camshaft taper.
