This is the correct petrol tank decal for the late T100C models from 1969 through 1972, with the block lettering. A larger version of this transfer is applied to the center of the side cover.
The script measures approximately 2″ long and is 1″ tall. This transfer is a thin waterslide variety, with a faint border that blends in with the finish of the petrol tank when clear coat finish is applied. Very nice accurate reproduction of the factory decal.
Waterslide decals are generally favored by restorers because the decal borders are not as prominent when applied and finished in clear coat. They can also be adjusted to the correct position while still wet.
A small basin of lukewarm water is used for submerging the decal for a moment, then when the backing paper is adequately saturated, the decal can be transferred off of the backing paper and onto the desired location. It is important to apply the decal to a clean surface. Blotting the decal with a clean cloth will help remove any air bubbles that may exist under the transfer.Â
