The grommet is used in two applications, as a T140 petrol tank mounting hole plug, and as a cable seal for the instrument carriers on the T160 model.
Applicable for Triumph TR7s and T140s from 1973-1982 and T160 models from 1975.
The rubber grommet is a plug that houses the Lucite emblem on the TR7 and T140 petrol tank top. It is also used as a sealing plug on the underside of the instrument carriers on the T160 model.
The grommet seals the tank mounting hardware from the elements and protects the speedometer and tachometer when used on the T160 models.
Is pressed into the hole on top of the petrol tank on the TR7 and T140 models. Is pressed into the hole on the bottom of the instrument carriers on the T160, with the cables passing through the central hole in the grommet.
