Properly sized throttle cables are essential for safe and correct adjustments to the throttle and carburetors. These cables fit the twin-carburetor Triumph 500 T100R Daytona model from 1969-1973. This listing is for (2) cables.
Made in the US by Barnett, these premium quality cables feature inline adjusters, alloy shouldered ferrules, and a friction-reducing nylon lining for easy operation and longevity. Overall length measures 46″, sheath length is 43-1/4″, with an inner wire free length of 2-3/4″.
The cable is pulled by the motion of the twist grip, allowing it to raise and lower the throttle slide in the carburetor. Fine adjustments to cable lash are made by the in-line barrel adjuster on the cable.
The carburetor top cap must be removed to thread the cable through the top cap. The return spring is installed over the cable, then the cable is captured in the throttle slide. The needle and clip are dropped in the slide bottom, with the return spring compressed so it is out of the way. The twist grip body must be separated to access the rotor, which pulls the end of the cable. It is necessary to check the action of the slides when the twist grip is rotated to ensure the cable lash adjustment is correct for each cable.
