The seat latch system found on the 1971-1972 BSA and Triumph 650 models is unique and employs a leaf spring and pivoting lever to lock down the latch when the seat is closed. This kit combines the latch and spring.
The leaf spring is assembled under the latching lever and offers tension to help retain the position of the latch when the seat is in the closed position and the retaining wire is engaged with the seat pan tab.
The seat latch assembly is designed to work with the hooked end of the tab on the seat pan, allowing the seat to be lifted and lowered when accessing the battery compartment and coil tray.
The spring and seat latch are fitted to the frame mount with a single screw and nut.
