Triumph 650 Complete Gasket Set Without Head Gasket 1971-72 Twins PN# TBS-1653

Assembled specifically for the 1971 and 1972 Triumph 650 models, this Cov-Seal comprehensive gasket set contains virtually all of the gaskets, fiber washers, and o-rings to complete an engine overhaul. The copper head gasket is not supplied with this set.

Made in the US, Cov-Seal gaskets feature a unique gasket material binding agent, known as Buna-N, which is the same material most o-rings are made from. These gaskets are meant to be fitted dry, as gasket sealants may contain chemicals that can soften Buna-N.

Gaskets form a seal between two mating surfaces. It is important that the mating surfaces are flat, completely cleaned, and devoid of any residual sealant or old gasket material. Properly prepared joining surfaces are critical to ensuring an oil-tight motor.

Once the mating surfaces are all prepared, the gaskets are fitted where applicable, and the hardware is tightened to form an oil-tight seal. The existing copper head gasket can often be annealed to restore it’s suppleness and be put back into service between the cylinder barrel and cylinder head.
