This left-hand carburetor is set up in the twin-carburetor configuration, with a #3 slide cutaway and 160 main jet. The adjusting screws and tickler are on the left side of the body.
Standard 600 series 26mm bore Amal Concentric, as used on the Triumph 500 T100R Daytona models. Updated “Stay-up” float and Viton-tipped float needle are important features. Jetted for use on a twin-carburetor application.
The Amal 626L is ideally paired with the 626R right-hand carburetor. Can be used as a single carburetor on models requiring one carburetor but will likely need a #3.5 or #4 slide cutaway and larger main jet for proper performance.
The carburetor is mounted to the inlet manifold and is fitted with an air cleaner. A dual inlet banjo is usually fitted to the float bowl on models with twin petcocks fitted to the petrol tank.
Note: The carburetor top cap adjusters must be removed and the threaded holes drilled out to accept Triumph-specific throttle and choke cables with the “top-hat” ferrules fitted.
