The dual seat is a visually prominent part of the restored motorcycle, and the seat cover should be finished in the correct pattern and color. Most early unit-construction Triumph 650 models featured this grey top seat cover.
The grey smooth top cover features white piping around the top of the cover with a sewn grey trim seam around the base of the cover. The Triumph logo is applied in a bright gold finish at the rear of the seat. Quality manufactured in the UK.
The metal seat base supports a foam pad and is the attachment point for the skirt of the seat cover. The trim around the bottom edge of the cover is integrated into the upholstery.
The seat cover is stretched over the foam padding and seat pan and retained by either sprags, seat pan tabs, or adhesive. Seat recovering requires skills that may be best reserved for a professional upholsterer.
