This stainless steel rear mudguard was specified for the MK2 and MK3 Commando models from 1973 through 1975, although it can be fitted to the earlier 1971-1972 drum brake models. The drillings are present for the front fender bracket, rear loop clip bracket, and license plate support bracket.
The genuine Andover Norton mudguard is manufactured in the UK to the original specifications with a beaded rear tip and a C-section profile. Tip-to-tip chord length is approximately 29.5″. There is an indent for the MK3 master cylinder and a cutaway for chainguard clearance.
The full-length Norton-specific mudguard offers protection from the elements and serves as a platform for the tail lamp assembly and license plate support bracket.
The rear wheel requires removal to test-fit, then the various holes are drilled for mounting hardware and bracketry. Stepped drill bits are often most effective for drilling through stainless steel.
